Falborg has big night for Chargers in sweep at Black Hawk

MOLINE — Playing just across the river from her high school alma mater, Olivia Falborg had a stellar performance in the Sandburg volleyball team's 25-18, 25-17, 25-21 Arrowhead Conference sweep at Black Hawk on Wednesday night.

Falborg, a graduate of Davenport (Iowa) North, posted a .583 hitting percentage with eight kills and just one error in the victory. The freshman middle also totaled three blocks in the win, with two of them being solo blocks.

Taylor Wagner had a team-best 10 kills in the match for Sandburg. Natalie Burden and Ayla Cannon matched Falborg's eight kills. Burden also had 12 digs in addition to tying Lauren Powell and Grace Vyhnanek for the team lead with three aces.

Madeline Mooney had 19 digs for the Chargers. Vyhnanek had a team-best 27 assists from the setter position.

6 p.m. Tuesday vs. Highland. The Chargers will celebrate Sophomore Night by honoring sophomores Cannon, Mooney, Vyhnanek, Wagner, Powell, Burden, Erin Jackson and Bailey Ryan prior to the match.
