Kisler’s 30-point night paces Chargers in win over Lady Blues

GALESBURG — Antonia Kisler went off for 30 points to lead the Sandburg women's basketball team in a 96-68 win over Illinois College JV on Monday.

It was the second 30-point outing of the season for Kisler, who had a career-high 33 in the Chargers' season opener. In Monday's win over the visiting Lady Blues, the sophomore from Galesburg went 9 for 17 from the field, hit 2 of 4 3-point tries and was 10 for 12 from the free-throw line.

Kisler also turned in nine rebounds and five assists for the Chargers, who led 47-37 at halftime before extending their lead by outscoring Illinois College JV 28-15 in the third quarter. The win was the fourth in the last five games for Sandburg.

Freshman Hailey Redding, coming off a 26-point outing Saturday at Bryant & Stratton, added 20 points for Sandburg. The freshman from Abingdon-Avon High School finished 8 for 13 from the field and connected on a pair of 3-pointers.

All 12 players who suited up for the Chargers recorded at least one field goal. Abbie Ackers and Tiera Hall each tallied seven points, and Ryleigh Clark and Lajaya Angel each scored six.

Freshman Camryn Atterberg had nine rebounds to tie Kisler for the team lead.

Sandburg shot 49 percent (33 of 67) overall from the field and was 10 for 28 from beyond the arc. The Chargers also made 20 of 25 foul shots.
