Landis tallies 11 for Chargers in loss to WolfPack
GALESBURG — Anna Landis was nearly perfect off the bench, but Madison pulled away from the Sandburg women's basketball team to hand the Chargers an 87-58 loss Saturday afternoon.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Chargers (2-2) took a 17-16 lead after Tiera Hall's pull-up jumper to start the second-quarter scoring. The WolfPack answered back by scoring 15 of the next 17 to regain the lead for good. Serinity Metcalfe hit three 3-pointers during that stretch for Madison, which took a 42-27 lead into halftime.
• Two Hailey Redding free throws with 8:30 to play closed a 14-2 burst for the Chargers to bring them back within 57-47. But Madison responded with a 10-0 run to stretch its lead back to 20.
SANDBURG STANDOUT
Landis came up with 11 points off the bench on 4-of-5 shooting, including a 3-for-3 effort beyond the arc. It was the first double-digit outing as a Charger for the freshman from Switzerland.
OTHER TOP CHARGERS
• Antonia Kisler: 14 points, 6-14 FG, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists
