Chargers bully Black Hawk as Kisler sets another season-high in scoring

GALESBURG — It didn't take long for Antonia Kisler to set another personal-best in scoring.

One game after recording a season-high in points, the Sandburg women's basketball freshman did it again, tallying 29 to pace the Arrowhead Conference-leading Chargers in an 85-69 win over Black Hawk on Tuesday.

KEY MOMENTS
• After the visiting Braves got off to a 6-2 lead in the opening minutes, the Chargers (13-7, 3-0) scored 18 of the last 23 in the first quarter, including the final eight in a row. Paige Huffman sandwiched a pair of 3-pointers around a Kisler turnaround bucket, giving Sandburg a 23-11 lead after the first. The Chargers never trailed again.
• Sandburg shot 10 of 18 from 3-point range in the first half, opening up a 51-33 lead at the break. The Chargers' last six field goals of the half came on 3s before Brook Pieper put together a traditional three-point play with :42.3 left.
• Sandburg finished with 14 3s in 28 attempts, its most makes in a game this season. The team's previous best was 11 on Jan. 16 against Illinois Valley.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Kisler, coming off a season-best 27 points Saturday at South Suburban, totaled 29 on 12-of-23 shooting and a 4-for-7 effort from 3-point range. The first-year player from Galesburg also had nine rebounds, three assists and four steals as she helped the Chargers navigate the second half while multiple players battled foul trouble.
