Sandburg Women Soar Past Sauk Valley Behind Big 4th Quarter

DIXON — The Carl Sandburg College women's basketball team rode a dominant fourth quarter to a 76-63 Arrowhead Conference victory at Sauk Valley on Thursday, giving the Chargers a season sweep of the Skyhawks.

Sandburg outscored the hosts 21-4 in the fourth quarter, helping the Chargers overcome a 59-55 deficit in entering the period and a 40-35 deficit at halftime.

Freshman forward Lilly Isenhour put together another big night for Sandburg, scoring 24 points and pulling down 15 rebounds to give her a dozen double-doubles on the season. Isenhour hit 9 of 14 shots from the field, went 6 of 7 from the line and had eight offensive rebounds.

Sophia Gugliotta finished with 16 points and seven rebounds on 6-of-13 shooting, and Elly Bentley had 14 points, six boards and five assists in the victory.

Freshman guard Armani Revis came off the bench and put together her biggest game of the season, scoring a personal-best 10 points while hitting 4 of 6 shots. Revis added five rebounds, two steals and two assists.
