Chargers close out Arrowhead Conference schedule at IVCC

OGLESBY — The Sandburg softball team finished its Arrowhead Conference schedule with a pair of losses Thursday at Illinois Valley as the Chargers began a stretch of three doubleheaders in as many days to close the regular season.

Chargers highlights
• With one out in the third inning, Jordyn Climer collected an infield single. She stole second and scored the Chargers' lone run on a two-out base hit to left off the bat of Hannah Pyle.

Sandburg standout
Madalynn Knapp was a perfect 2 for 2 at the dish, including a double.

Chargers highlights
• With the bases loaded and one gone in the fourth, Pyle brought home Lakinn Larson with a sacrifice fly to left field.
• Sandburg plated a pair of runs in the sixth. Hamilton singled with one out and scored on Climer's triple to center. Jalie Eller knocked in Climer on the next pitch with a sac fly to left.

Sandburg standout
Climer's triple was one of her two hits in three at-bats. The sophomore second baseman also had an infield single in the fourth.
