Pyle connects for 2 homers, 6 RBIs at Black Hawk

GALESBURG — Hannah Pyle homered in both ends of the Sandburg softball team's Arrowhead Conference doubleheader Thursday afternoon at Black Hawk.

Chargers highlights
• Down 4-0 in the second, Emma Racke reached on an error to lead off the inning before Pyle smacked a home run to center field to cut Sandburg's deficit in half.
Lakinn Larson doubled to open the third and scored when Madalynn Knapp's grounder to shortstop was misplayed. Pyle singled two batters later to even the score, and she scored on a wild pitch with two out to give Sandburg a 5-4 lead.

Sandburg standout
Pyle finished 2 for 3 with two runs scored and three RBIs, including her first homer of the season.

Chargers highlights
• The Charger fell behind 6-0 after two innings but got back in the game with a five-run third. Jordyn Climer doubled to lead off the frame and scored from third on a passed pall. Pyle then came up and clobbered her second homer of the doubleheader, a three-run shot to center, to make it 6-4. A double and an error followed before Reese Poole came through with a single to center that scored Jalie Eller to make it 6-5.
• Racke connected for her first home run of the season with a solo shot to center in the fourth. 

Sandburg standout
Just like Game 1, Pyle again finished 2 for 3 with a homer, three runs driven in and a pair of runs scored.
