The Chargers got on the board in the bottom of the first as Carter Chapin singled with one away and scored from first on Chuck Hathaway's two-out base hit to center.
Sandburg standout
Brady Peterson delivered 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. The freshman from Sherrard didn't allow a run or a hit, and he struck out a batter. Peterson used 34 pitches (18 strikes) to collect his eight outs.
