Atterberg’s big outing helps Chargers to road win at Black Hawk 

 

MOLINE — Camryn Atterberg's huge night and a dominant second half helped the Sandburg women's basketball team rally for a 95-79 win at Black Hawk on Thursday night. 

Atterberg delivered 20 points, 16 rebounds and six assists — her highest marks in each category this season — as the Chargers (14-7 overall, 4-1 Arrowhead Conference) scored 90-plus points for the fifth time. Sandburg won for the fifth time in its last six games and eighth in its last 10. 

Atterberg was 9 of 16 from the field and had 13 of her 16 rebounds on the offensive glass. The freshman from Keokuk was one of three Chargers starters to turn in a double-double in the win. 

Sophomore Antonia Kisler had 18 points and 11 rebounds to go with five assists and two steals. Kisler was 7 of 13 from the floor. Sophomore Tiera Hall added 12 points and 10 boards while going 5 of 12 overall. 

Freshman Hailey Redding connected on 5 of 10 3-point attempts and totaled 17 points on the night.  

Janessa Wallace had nine points and tied a season high with nine assists for the Chargers. Sandburg finished with 24 assists on its 39 made field goals. 

The Chargers held a 20-19 edge after the opening quarter but found themselves down 43-38 going into halftime. Sandburg then outscored the Braves 57-36 in the second half, punctuated by a 30-14 fourth quarter.
