Redding, Hall lead Chargers in road win over Wildcats
CANTON, Mo. — Hailey Redding and Tiera Hall each had a double-double to pace the Sandburg women's basketball team in a 67-55 win over Culver-Stockton JV on Sunday afternoon.
The Chargers (3-3) got out to a 23-16 lead after the opening quarter and held a 37-25 advantage at the break. Sandburg held on for the win after Culver-Stockton JV closed within 52-44 entering the fourth quarter.
Redding totaled a team-leading and season-high 16 points while adding 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the year. She also had one Nov. 12 at Spoon River. The freshman from Abingdon-Avon High School was 6 of 18 from the floor. She also had two steals and a block in the victory.
Hall finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds as she notched her third double-double of the season and second in as many games. The sophomore also led Sandburg with four assists in addition to collecting two steals and a block.
Freshman Camryn Atterberg pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds (eight offensive) as the Chargers racked up a season-high 64 boards on the day.
Abbie Ackers scored a season-best nine points for Sandburg, which included her going 2 for 3 from 3-point range. Lajaya Angel had eight points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in the win for the Chargers. Six of Angel's rebounds came on the offensive glass.
