Catton Fans 10, but Chargers Drop 2 at Home to Eagles
GALESBURG — Chelsey Catton (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) whiffed 10 batters in Game 1, but Illinois Valley handed the Carl Sandburg College softball team a pair of losses in an Arrowhead Conference doubleheader Tuesday at the Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex.

Key Moment
Down 7-4 in the bottom of the seventh, Catton brought home two runs with a two-out single to get the Chargers within a run. Catton advanced to second on the play via error and represented the tying run at third when she moved up on a passed ball, but Regan Eaves (Nauvoo, Ill./Warsaw) went down swinging to end the contest.
Sandburg Standout
In addition to going 2 for 4 with an RBI at the plate, Catton matched a season-high with 10 strikeouts in seven innings in the circle. Only one of the seven runs she allowed was earned. She also recorded 10 Ks in the Chargers' April 11 victory over Iowa Wesleyan JV.

Key Moment
After the Chargers had scored twice in the third to climb within a run at 3-2, the Eagles answered back with a pair of runs in the fourth and tacked on three more in the fifth to extend their advantage to 8-2.
Sandburg Standout
Emma Wolfe (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap) was the only Charger with multiple hits in the game, going 2 for 3. Wolfe also drew a walk in the contest.
