Flores’ pair of 2nd-half goals leads Chargers to win at Rock Valley

ROCKFORD — Hugo Flores' pair of second-half goals accounted for all the scoring in the Sandburg men's soccer team's 2-0 Region 4 victory at Rock Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

Alvaro Mugo found Flores for a goal in the 60th minute to break the ice. The Chargers maintained their 1-0 lead into the closing minutes when Flores scored again, this time with an assist from Ramon Ponga in the 81st minute.

Linus Richtberg protected Sandburg's lead by stopping all four shots on goal he faced. It marked the third clean sheet of the season for the Chargers.

Sandburg tallied eight shots in the match, with five going on frame.

The victory was the second in a row for Sandburg, which is unbeaten in its last four contests (2-0-2)
