Chargers Tally 5 Goals After Halftime in 6-1 Win at Kankakee

KANKAKEE — The Carl Sandburg College men's soccer team erupted for five second-half goals in earning a 6-1 Region IV victory at Kankakee on Wednesday.

Jean Forestal and Saul Etienne each scored twice to lead the Chargers (5-5-1 overall, 4-5-1 Region IV), with Forestal also collecting a pair of assists. Vinicios Sartorello and Matteo Rissato Prado each had a goal and a helper as Sandburg ended a two-game slide.

The teams went into halftime knotted 1-1 with Prado delivering the Chargers' goal in the 15th minute.

Forestal fed Etienne for goals in the 50th and 55th minutes to put the Chargers ahead 3-1. Forestal then padded the lead with his first goal of the match in the 60th minute, and Sartorello scored in the 75th minute to make it 5-1. Forestal capped the scoring in the 80th minute with a tally off an assist from Santiago Palacio.

The Chargers racked up 21 shots in the match, with 17 of them on net. Etienne had a team-best four shots on goal for Sandburg.

Benjamin Hilton and Marco Aona Jr. split time in net for the Chargers, with Hilton making two saves in 50 minutes and Aona stopping all three shots he faced in 40 minutes of action.
