LASALLE — Jean Forestal netted his fourth multi-goal game in as many contests this season, but Illinois Valley prevailed 3-2 in overtime against the 14th-ranked Carl Sandburg College men's soccer team on Wednesday.
Forestal scored both goals for the Chargers (2-2 overall, 1-1 Region IV), tying the game at 1-1 in the 21st minute on a header from Saul Etienne and at 2-2 in the 72nd minute off a feed from Brais Sotelo Gonzalez.
Illinois Valley, though, recorded the golden goal in the 97th minute off a corner kick from Carlos Sousa to Andres Mendes.
Forestal now has nine goals in four games this season, tying him for second NJCAA Division II. He also ranks second in the nation with 22 points.
