Forestal Scores Twice as No. 18 Chargers Handle Black Hawk 4-1

EAST MOLINE — Jean Forestal netted a pair of goals and added an assist as the 18th-ranked Carl Sandburg College men's soccer team began defense of its Region IV title with a 4-1 victory at Black Hawk on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chargers (1-1 overall, 1-0 Region IV), who jumped into the NJCAA Division II rankings Monday, scored all four of their goals in the opening half to lead 4-0.

Matteo Rissato Prado sent a header to Guylberson Camille, who put it away in the 10th minute to begin the scoring. Forestal tallied his first goal in the 14th minute as Camille sent him a cross for an easy tap-in, and Forestal sent a back-heel pass to Santiago Palacio just a minute later to extend the Chargers' lead to 3-0. Forestal made it a 4-0 Sandburg advantage in the 40th minute off a feed from Brais Sotelo Gonzalez.

Sophomore keeper Benjamin Hilton made two saves in 75 minutes in net. The Braves got their lone goal in the 86th minute after getting one past Marco Aona Jr., who saw 15 minutes of action.

Sandburg racked up 27 total shots, with 19 of them on net. Camille put eight of his 11 attempts on goal, and Forestal and five shots on goal out of nine attempts.
